For the first time, Viljandi Summer Opera welcomes a guest ensemble: the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra conducted by its principal conductor Constantine Orbelian, who comes from a renowned Armenian musical dynasty. He currently serves as the Artistic Director of New York City Opera.
Appearing as soloist is the internationally acclaimed tenor Charles Castronovo, whose career began at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. His duet partner is Annely Peebo of the Vienna Volksoper, a graduate of the Viljandi Music School.
