VILJANDI SUMMER OPERA 7.0
​“Opera in Hollywood”

“Opera in Hollywood” brings to audiences the arias made famous by the world-renowned tenor Mario Lanza, as well as well-known musical works from classic Hollywood films.
For the first time, Viljandi Summer Opera welcomes a guest ensemble: the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra conducted by its principal conductor Constantine Orbelian, who comes from a renowned Armenian musical dynasty. He currently serves as the Artistic Director of New York City Opera.
Appearing as soloist is the internationally acclaimed tenor Charles Castronovo, whose career began at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. His duet partner is Annely Peebo of the Vienna Volksoper, a graduate of the Viljandi Music School.

Guest performance. Tuta concert: The Magic Chest

A Tuta sing-along concert is a wonderful chance to give yourself an unforgettable summer experience! This summer, Tuta will visit the beautiful town of Viljandi together with her friends. At this concert, Tuta (played by actress Karolin Jüris), Rebane, Fennek, and Mäger will once again share the stage with the author and composer of Tuta’s songs, Laura Polence, singer Kärt Anton, and an ensemble of outstanding musicians: Mathei Florea (piano), Joosep Talumaa (bass), Markus Nurmsaar (guitar), Ramuel Tafenau (drums), Ernests Mediņš (percussion), Oskars Ozoliņš (trumpet), Laura Rozenberga (trombone), Karmen Telvik (vocals), and Andra Aus (vocals). The concert will feature beloved children’s songs from the show “Tuta asjad,” which are especially well suited to the youngest music lovers. The choreographer of the concert is Rolands Meržejevskis, and the director is Liene Sebre. The concerts are organized by the Latvian production company Ausma Media.

FAQ

The concerts take place at the Viljandi Song Festival Grounds. Most of the seats are located under the song arch, but the seats in the parterre section are not covered.

Dress politely yet comfortably, and according to the weather.

Filming and photographing the concerts is not allowed.

Yes, the concerts are easily accessible for people in wheelchairs. Wheelchair users can enjoy the concerts at the sides and center of the first rows in the parterre. To purchase tickets for a wheelchair user and their companion, please write to the following address:

The concerts are recommended for children from the age of 12. A ticket is not required for an infant, but please note that if the child disturbs the concert, the organizer may ask the visitor to leave.

You are not allowed to bring your own food and drinks to the concert. On-site cafés will be open, offering a selection of beverages as well as both savory and sweet snacks.

Piletitaskust. If the concert is not sold out, tickets can also be purchased on site. However, we recommend buying tickets in advance, as Viljandi Summer Opera is one of the most popular cultural events of the summer.
